Adaptive Hiking
The TrailRider is a revolutionary mobility device that provides unparalleled wilderness access possibilities for people with a disability. The TrailRider is a futuristic-looking, lightweight, one- wheeled, environmentally friendly access vehicle that is manoeuvered by two "sherpas" (friends/family members/CRIS volunteers: one pulls and one pushes). The TrailRider can take people with disabilities through virtually any terrain - from gentle walking paths to rugged mountain trails.

Adaptive Tandem Cycling
Tandem Cycling is now for everyone, with low- profile, secured seating and a stable, three-wheel system, these bikes enable anyone to pedal or just relax and enjoy the ride.
CRIS, together with BC Blind Sports, has an inventory of 10 upright tandem bikes to suit people of all ages and abilities.
Another alternative for particiapants is the upright tandem trike, of which CRIS has two in inventory. This bike provides all the stability you may want with a three-wheel system, but still gives the traditional feel of an upright bike to enjoy the view.

AWA - Adaptive Wilderness Adventures
Adaptive Wilderness Adventure (AWA) is an international adventure travel organization run tailored specifically for people with disabilities. AWA also offers specialized programs for individuals who have a specific objective in mind.
"Our mandate is to make the adventure world accessible for all travel and outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy."

Whether it's climbing Machu Picchu or Mt. Kilimanjaro, taking a journey along The Great Wall of China, or kayaking the shores of the Galapagos Islands, CRIS Adaptive Wilderness Adventure volunteers are geared up and rearing to go!! Maybe exploring the deep valleys of the Grand Canyon, cycling the back roads of Europe or the outback of Australia, or taking in the vast array of marine life around Canada's Vancouver Island is more your thing!! Whatever the desire, Adaptive Wilderness Adventures have unlimited expedition possibilities. For details on our international trips please contact our friendly staff at our office.
