Challenge Limits. Create Possibility.
You don’t need to be an outdoor expert. You just need to believe that adventure is possible for everyone.
Whether you're volunteering on a community paddle, carrying gear on a backcountry expedition, making a monthly gift, or bringing your business into the mission - you’re helping create moments that last a lifetime.
Be There When It Happens
Volunteers are the heartbeat of Adaptive Adventures.
You are the steady hand at the handlebars. The voice that says “you’ve got this” when someone’s unsure. The first to arrive, the last to leave, and the one who never forgets the look on a participant’s face when they do something they never thought possible.
There’s no app for this. No shortcut to what you experience.
You might join us for a local day trip or a wild backcountry expedition, so you're not just helping out. You're part of the story.
Adaptive Outdoor Recreation Opportunities
Picture this - a sunny morning on the lakeshore. You’re fitting a lifejacket on a nervous first-time paddler. By noon, they’re laughing mid-stroke, soaking wet and wildly proud. That’s the kind of moment you’ll be part of, over and over again.
Support roles include:
Assisting with cycling, paddling, hiking, and snow outings
Helping with check-ins, gear setup, and participant support
Being part of an exciting, inclusive, confidence-building crew
We provide both online and in-person training to build your confidence, clarify expectations, and foster a diverse, inclusive, respectful, and fun team atmosphere.
Adaptive Wilderness Expedition Support
This is something different. You’re part of adventure: on the trail, cooking meals, lifting, listening, making sure the team moves as one. You're there for the altitude and the breakdowns and the unexpected joy - adapting to the unexpected with calm enthusiasm and resolve.
Expedition support involves:
Carrying packs or gear
Helping with logistics, food prep, and morale
Supporting participants across multi-day terrain
Being trained, trusted, and transformed alongside them
It’s a challenge AND a rare invitation. Limited spots. Deep impact.
Our Adaptive programs are only possible because people like you believe in them. From a single paddle to a 5-day trek, your support funds training, gear, safety, access, and connection.
Impact Examples:
$50: Provides a hydration pack for a participant
$100: funds a set of walking poles for participants
$500 - 1,000 supports volunteer training for new team member or Repairs an adaptive trailrider or cycle

Kent Stewart, Participant, KVR Trip 2025
"Being able to get out into the backcountry and travel under my own power is incredibly meaningful. While my friends and family may have the physical ability to do this, there’s so much more involved — planning, equipment, support staff, and cost. All of which would normally make something like this out of reach for me.
Adaptive Adventures makes these trips accessible to anyone willing to give it a try. I feel so fortunate to be among the participants and never take a single moment for granted.”

Mandy Gill, Volunteer, Broken Goat 2025
"The moment that will stay with me forever was seeing Claire cross the finish line — hand outstretched, beaming with joy. I couldn’t hold back the tears. Even when the motor broke minutes into the race, our team refused to give up. We harnessed in, roped up, and powered through, navigating obstacles together with resilience, teamwork, and determination. Every challenge became a memory, and every triumph felt shared. This experience with Adaptive Adventures was empowering, emotional, and truly unforgettable — I felt unstoppable!"

Jenna, Participant, Haida Gwaii Trip 2023
"Accessible Wilderness Expedition showed me what’s possible when adventure meets accessibility. From climbing massive trees and kayaking for the first time, to fishing and learning about Haida Gwaii’s culture, I felt empowered, independent, and truly connected to the world around me.
The staff and volunteers were amazing — their support turned impossible moments into unforgettable triumphs. This trip was lifechanging, and everyone with a disability should have the opportunity to experience it."
