Nass River Wilderness Expedition

The Nass cuts through the northwestern corner of BC in a way that makes you feel genuinely far from everything — because you are. Seven days of wilderness rafting, remote camping, and a film crew capturing every moment. This is the flagship AWE expedition of 2026, and it is not for the fence-sitters.

The river is ready. Are you?

August 18-28, 2026 · Nass River, BC
Wilderness Rafting · Remote Camping

10 Days and 100km in the Back Country

The Nass River runs through the northwestern corner of British Columbia in a landscape that most people will never see. From canyon walls, old-growth forest, and the kind of silence that takes a day or two to fully settle into. There are no roads in. No easy exits. Just the river, the team, and whatever you brought with you.

This is Adaptive Adventures most ambitious expedition of the 2026 season. Ten days on the water with Riverside Adventures' expert guide team and a crew of trained volunteers supporting up to five participants who were ready to say yes to something genuinely demanding.

The rafting is real. The terrain is remote. The experience is the kind that takes time to fully process once you're home, and then keeps coming back to you for years.

  • A man snowshoeing in a lovely forest in a bright crisp day

Kent Stewart, Participant, KVR Trip 2025

"Being able to get out into the backcountry and travel under my own power is incredibly meaningful. While my friends and family may have the physical ability to do this, there’s so much more involved — planning, equipment, support staff, and cost. All of which would normally make something like this out of reach for me.

Adaptive Adventures makes these trips accessible to anyone willing to give it a try. I feel so fortunate to be among the participants and never take a single moment for granted.”

  • A team crossing the finish line with an adaptive athlete

Mandy Gill, Volunteer, Broken Goat 2025

"The moment that will stay with me forever was seeing Claire cross the finish line — hand outstretched, beaming with joy. I couldn’t hold back the tears. Even when the motor broke minutes into the race, our team refused to give up. We harnessed in, roped up, and powered through, navigating obstacles together with resilience, teamwork, and determination. Every challenge became a memory, and every triumph felt shared. This experience with Adaptive Adventures was empowering, emotional, and truly unforgettable — I felt unstoppable!"

  • Smiling young Asian woman with shoulder-length black hair, wearing a blue top, in a lush green indoor setting with plants in the background.

Jenna, Participant, Haida Gwaii Trip 2023

"Accessible Wilderness Expedition showed me what’s possible when adventure meets accessibility. From climbing massive trees and kayaking for the first time, to fishing and learning about Haida Gwaii’s culture, I felt empowered, independent, and truly connected to the world around me.

The staff and volunteers were amazing — their support turned impossible moments into unforgettable triumphs. This trip was lifechanging, and everyone with a disability should have the opportunity to experience it."
